Our laboratory is very well-equipped for recombination protein production in various host organisms including E. coli, insect cells and mammalian cells with the help of FPLC machines (Äkta Purifier, Pure, and Go). We have a variety of biophysical methods available for in vitro characterization of proteins like Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI), Thermal shift assays, and mass-spectrometry. In close connection with Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) Frankfurt, our lab has access to state-of-the-art instrumentation for X-ray crystallography. We have regular synchrotron trips for Swiss Light Source and DESY beamlines in Switzerland and Hamburg, respectively. Moreover, the Riedberg campus accommodates three Titan-Krios microscopes for high-resolution cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) as well as tomography. This provides us opportunities for fruitful collaboration on promising projects.
