Martin Wegner
Martin studied Bioinformatics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt and obtained his diploma degree in 2015. During his diploma studies, he focused on network biology and its applications to neurobiology, particularly to the analysis of neurodegenerative diseases and the amyloid precursor protein. For his diploma thesis Martin integrated the proteome of the presynaptic active zone of mouse hippocampus into a protein interaction network, analyzed its properties, and investigated the effect of APP and APLP2 knockout. Currently, Martin is a PhD student in the Gene Editing Group of Manuel Kaulich at the Institute of Biochemistry II.
