IBC2 director Ivan Đikić is one of the five new members of EMBO Council that were elected at the Council meeting in Heidelberg on 24 and 25 May 2022. Đikić will join the Council in 2023. The EMBO Council, composed of 15 members, is the governing body of EMBO and as such responsible for developing and guiding the future directions of the organization.

Ivan Đikić commented: “Being elected as a member of the EMBO Council is a great honour and meaningful commitment, particularly given the current situation and challenges in Europe. EMBO’s leading role in science funding, scientific structures and education across European countries will be of critical importance.”

Đikić is an EMBO member since 2004 and part of the Advisory Editorial Boards of EMBO Journal and EMBO Reports since 2007. He has previously served on EMBO’s Publications Advisory Board, Publication Committee and EMBO/EMBL Symposia Committee and is a regular organizer of EMBO workshops and conference series.
